Our Story
Final Boss was founded by Brian Brumfield-Horner and Isaac Blessinger, two friends brought together by a shared love of games, comics, collectibles, and the communities that grow around them.
They wanted Culpeper to have more than another place to buy hobby products.
They wanted to create a store where people could discover new interests, reconnect with old favorites, meet others who shared their enthusiasm, and feel comfortable being part of the hobby regardless of how much experience they had.
That idea continues to shape Final Boss today.
The hobbies may change. New games arrive, new communities form, and new people walk through the door.
The goal stays the same: create a place people genuinely enjoy being part of.
Find Your Place at Final Boss
There's no single kind of Final Boss customer.
A parent might walk in because their child suddenly loves Pokémon and they have no idea where to begin.
A Magic player might return to the game after fifteen years away and discover an entirely different way to play.
Someone who knows Marvel from the movies might pick up their first comic.
A retro gamer might spot the same game they spent an entire summer playing as a kid.

Built Around Community
The products on our shelves are only one part of Final Boss.
Our tables bring people together throughout the week for trading card games, casual play, tournaments, prereleases, and other community events. Around the store, customers trade recommendations, talk about what they're reading or playing, show off their latest finds, and help newcomers learn something they were curious enough to try.
Sometimes community starts with a tournament.
Sometimes it starts with two people talking about a game they both loved growing up.
We believe hobbies are better when they're shared, and a local hobby store gives those connections somewhere to happen.
